The music companies like T-Series have brought back the songs sung by Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to their YouTube channels after the growing demands from the Indian audience to restore the songs of Pakistani singers.

Several music companies, including T-Series, has resorted to boycotting the Pakistani artists after tensions escalated at the border as a result of the killing of more than 40 soldiers by Pakistan-trained terrorist in Pulwama in Kashmir last month.

T-Series had boycotted Pakistani artists and asked for a blanket ban on Pakistani actors and singers following the Pulwama terror attack. India biggest music brand T-Series had removed Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s songs from its online platforms, like YouTube.

The Moscow based news website SputnikNews has claimed that they have now brought back after huge public demand. However, such demands are not confirmed by any verified sources. It is said that the T-Series, which is currently fighting against PewDiePie to top the most popular channel list on YouTube recently lost a substantial number of Pakistani followers and this negative trend was considered as the result of boycotting Pakistani singers by the company.

Apart from boycotting the Pakistani singers by Indian music companies as well as Bollywood, the famous film star, producer and actor Salman Khan also dropped Atif Aslam’s song from his film Notebook. Indian artists like actress Shabana Azmi and her husband lyricist Javed Akhtar has also canceled their trips to Pakistan.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have recently mounted after a deadly airstrike on February 14 by Jaish-e-Mohammad on the Indian paramilitary police force in Kashmir last month. While India has accused Pakistan of supporting the militants and having a direct hand in the attack, Pakistan has rejected the allegations.
