Taliban attack in Afghanistan foiled, 17 terrorists killed
Taliban vigorously attacked Zaram district from different places in the morning but were thwarted by security forces
Kabul: The Taliban launched a forceful attack in the Zaram district of Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province early Monday. However, the security forces responded swiftly and the Taliban had to flee. The security forces later recovered 17 bodies.
A statement issued by the army said that the Taliban attacked from various positions early in the morning to recapture the district of Zaram, but were thwarted by security forces, killing 17 Taliban and injuring more than 12.
The army was assisted by the Air Force in this action. The statement did not give any details about the damage done to the security forces.
