After 34 years, India once again gets a new education policy
The country has brought a new education policy once again after about 34 years. This policy has been approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has been renamed as Ministry of Education in the new education policy.
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet finally approved the pending new education policy on Wednesday and the Ministry of Human Resource Development has been renamed as Ministry of Education in the new education policy. The country has got a new education policy once again after about 34 years.
This policy has been approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Human Resource Development Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was also present in the meeting.
Dr. Nishank told reporters after the cabinet meeting that the Prime Minister’s new education policy will prove to be a milestone in the creation of a new India. This is the first time in the history of the country that a comprehensive policy has been discussed with parents and village committees, public representatives to formulate a comprehensive policy on such a large scale, and then a new education policy was outlined. This is happening for the first time in the history of the country.
In the new education policy, the National Commission on Education, in addition to the National Research Foundation, also emphasises modern physical education, yoga, sports and arts, focusing on students between the ages of 3 to 18 years.
