MHRD: 6000 videos to be translated into 10 languages for online education
New Delhi: The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry on Monday decided that all the 1,900 courses and 60,000 videos would be translated into ten regional languages and for online education. The decision has been taken in the wake of lockdown caused by COVID-19 outbreak so that more benefit is taken from the government of India’s digital learning programmes.
The decision was taken at a meeting held by Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank where he reviewed the National online education platform SWAYAM and the 32 DTH Television Education Channels SWAYAM PRABHA here Monday.
It is stated in an official release here said that the more popular content, and for engineering courses taught in the first year shall, however, will be given priority for translation work. Various schools and colleges have already started online education including various central universities. Delhi based Jamia Millia Islamia has also recently started the same online education for various courses due to lockdown.
