Private teachers in Hyderabad protest on Teachers’ Day with black flags
On Teacher’s Day, teachers’ organisations observed Black Day in Hyderabad. Protests were staged with black badges and black flags in front of the DEO’s office in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: Against the attitude of private school owners and the government, the Telangana Private Teachers Forum staged a protest in front of the DEO office in Hyderabad.
On the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Saturday, teachers’ organisations marked the day as Black Day. Under statewide protests, black badges were tied in arms and hoisted black flags in front of the DEO’s office in Hyderabad.
Protesters demanded to provide identity cards to the teachers. According to GO 45, full pay was also demanded by private teachers and non-teaching officers.
They demanded the government to provide financial assistance to the families of private teachers. Simultaneously, a regulatory committee should be set up to regulate private educational institutions. In case of accident, teachers should be provided with ESI, PF, insurance facility.
Teachers said that the schools have been closed since the lockdown, resulting in them being deprived of their salaries.
