344 new cases of coronavirus test positive in West Bengal

Kolkata: 344 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in West Bengal. The total number of coronavirus patients have reached 4,536 in the state. The number of coronavirus cases has increased sharply in recent days. Six people have died.

9,256 people have been tested positive in West Bengal. 1,75,769 people have been tested so far in the state. 1956 people are being tested on a population of one million. Coronavirus is found positive in 2.86% of the total people tested. There are currently 38 laboratories operating in the state, 8 of which took eight weeks.

There are 354 cases of coronavirus in the northern 24 Parganas, after Kolkata and Howrah. Two persons were found infected with coronavirus in  Ashoknagar of the Howrah district.

The news of a 60-year-old man being infected with coronavirus in the Pali Mangal area of Ward no-16 of Habra Municipality has created an atmosphere of panic in Howrah. He had a fever for the last several days, who has been admitted to Barasat Hospital. The administration has cleaned the house and surroundings of the infected person.

Moreover, the health department has directed nine family members of the infected positive to stay at home in quarantine. A man who came from Mumbai in Ashoknagar has also tested positive coronavirus. The young man recently returned to his home in Ashoknagar.
