About 5,000 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the country in just a day. With this new number of affected people, the total number has crossed 90,000. India is now ranked in 11th position in the list of countries with the highest epidemic statistics in the world.
New Delhi: The data released today by the Union Ministry of Health reports 4987 new cases of corona infection. The cases have been reported in the last 24 hours from various states and union territories of the country. 120 people have died in this period.
So far, 90,927 people have been infected with the coronavirus across the country. 2,872 people have died and 34,109 people have fully recovered from the infection. Those recovered have been discharged from various hospitals.
Maharashtra is the most affected state in the country with coronavirus. This has caused the state to be in the worst condition. In the last 24 hours, 1,606 new cases have been reported in Maharashtra. The total number of infected people has risen to 30,706 and a total of 1,135 people have died so far. 7,088 people have been recovered from the infection.
The state of Gujarat holds the second-highest number of coronavirus cases and the number of infected people has come down to 5,000. The epidemic in Gujarat has so far affected 10,988 people and killed 625 people. 4,308 people in Gujarat have been discharged from various hospitals after treatment.
Tamil Nadu ranks in third position in the list of five thousand cases of coronavirus infection. The total number of cases has risen to 10,585 and 74 people have died from the epidemic. 3538 people have recovered from the disease in the state.
