AIIMS patient commits suicide by hanging, no suicide was found
The suicide victim has been identified as 32 year old Rajamani Patel. He was hospitalized for a few days and committed suicide by hanging clothes from a bathroom window grill.
New Delhi: A patient admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) of New Delhi committed suicide by hanging himself on Thursday morning. South Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Thakur said that the suicide was reported at 5.00 AM.
The suicide victim has been identified as Rajamani Patel, 32 years old. He was hospitalized for a few days and committed suicide by hanging clothes from a bathroom window grill. No suicide note was found on the spot.
Police said that Rajamani was a resident of Satna, Madhya Pradesh. He underwent bowel surgery last year and was admitted to AIIMS yesterday for further treatment. The patient disappeared from his room late last night.
After he was located, the hospital officials found him hanging in the bathroom. He was immediately taken to the emergency ward, where doctors declared him dead. Police are investigating the case.
