India now ranks third on the list of countries affected with Covid-19
There have been 24,248 new cases of coronavirus infection during the last 24 hours across India, bringing the total number of infections to 6,97 913. The death toll from Coronavirus has increased to19,693.
New Delhi: During the last 24 hours, more than 24,000 new cases have been reported in the country. Now, there is increasing havoc of coronavirus infection in India after this unfortunate speed of infection. India now ranks third on the list of countries affected by the infection.
According to data released on Monday by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 24,248, new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported across the country during the last 24 hours. The tally took the total number of infections to 6,97,413. During the same period, the death toll of coronavirus increased to 19,693. Meanwhile, there has been a steady increase in the number of people getting rid of the infection. As many as 15,350 patients have recovered during the last 24 hours. Now, the total number of those who recovered so far from the disease is 4,24,433 people. There are currently 2,53,287 active cases of the infection in the country.
Maharashtra has been reported the worst affected state by the Coronavirus with 6555 new cases of infection. The figure took the total number of infections to 2,06,619 and deaths to 151, leading to the death toll of 8,822. Now, 1,11,740 people in the state are affected by the disease.
Tamil Nadu, which ranks second in terms of infections in India, increased the number of infected people from 4,150 to 1,11,151. This number has increased to 1,510 with 60 deaths in the same period. In the state, 62,778 people have been discharged from hospitals after treatment.
