Balrampur rape case | 22-year-old rape victim dies, 2 accused arrested
A 22-year-old girl did not return home till late Tuesday evening in an area of Balrampur. The family called on her mobile but she did not pick up the phone. Later, the girl came home in a rickshaw.
Balrampur: A rape victim has died while taking her to a hospital in Gesdi area of Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh. Two people have been arrested. Superintendent of Police Dev Ranjan Verma informed here on Wednesday night.
He said that a 22-year-old girl did not return home till late Tuesday evening in Gesdi area. The family called on her mobile but she did not pick up the phone. Shortly afterward, the girl came home in a rickshaw. She had a glucose-weaving vego in her hand. The girl was in critical condition at that time.
Mr. Verma said that the girl’s family was taking her to the hospital when she died on the way. The family alleges that two people raped her daughter on the pretext of treatment. When her condition deteriorated, she was sent home on a rickshaw.
Superintendent of Police Dev Ranjan Verma said that two accused have been arrested. A case against the accused has been registered on the family witness.
The case is being investigated under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar Mishra. Strict action has been promised to be taken against the culprits.
A similar case of a gangrape victim has recently occurred in Hathras in western Uttar Pradesh, for which the opposition has strongly criticised the Yogi government for the shameful incident and has demanded strong action against the perpetrators at the earliest.
