BJP MLA Janmejaya Singh from presidential seat in Uttar Pradesh dies
The MLA was rushed to Civil Hospital with chest pain late on Thursday, where he was referred to Lohia Hospital after his condition worsened. He died during treatment.
Deoria / Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Janmejaya Singh, from Deoria presidential seat in Uttar Pradesh, died of heart attack in a hospital in Lucknow late Thursday. He was 75 years old.
Official sources said on Friday that Mr. Singh was rushed to Civil Hospital late Thursday on a complaint of chest pain, where he was referred to Lohia Hospital after his condition deteriorated. He died during treatment.
The deceased MLA tested negative for Covid. He was a resident of Devgaon in Gori Bazar town, 18 km from Deoria district headquarters. His body is being brought to Khaki Deoria, where he will be cremated. He has survived by a son and four daughters.
Born on July 7, 1945, Mr. Singh celebrated his 75th birthday last month. He came to Lucknow to attend the current session of the assembly. Mr. Singh won the 16th Assembly elections in 2012 and the 17th Assembly elections in 2017 on a BJP ticket.
