Complaint filed against Arnab Goswami, allegedly attacked later
New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Anil Chaudhary has filed a complaint against Arnab Goswami at the IP State Police Station. He accused the Republic TV editor-in-chief, Arnab Goswami, of spreading hatred, defaming the country’s image, and making offensive statements against Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Mr. Chaudhry has also handed over a copy of FIR to Commissioner of Police SN Srivastava and Central Delhi District Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Bhatia. The complaint alleges that Mr. Goswami, during a debate in Republic TV, alleged that Mrs. Gandhi was deliberately keeping quiet on Palghar lynching incident and also commented on her place of birth Italy.
Congress, on the other hand, has launched an extensive social media campaign and demanded the arrest of Mr Goswami. Goswami has also recently resigned from the Editors’ Guild of India.
Later on the day, Arnab Goswami was allegedly attacked by unknown individuals. Goswami also released a video reacting to the alleged attack, saying that the Congress is behind the attack and that the Congress workers were involved.
However, there has been a lot of speculation with jokes and memes on social media about what security was doing in the end. It is being asked if the security already identified the attackers as Congress workers, why didn’t they catch or try to catch them?
