Floods in Assam: about 1.95 lakh people in 7 districts affected
Guwahati: Floods in Assam have affected about 1.95 lakh people in seven districts. The situation in Assam is deteriorating due to floods. Floods in other major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, have affected about 1.95 lakh people in the state. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority has issued an official statement saying that seven districts in the state have been affected by the floods.
According to the statement, about 194,916 people have been officially affected by the floods in the state, which has affected more than 160,000 people in Golpara district alone.
Two other rivers of the state including the Brahmaputra river are flowing above the danger mark. About 9,000 people have been evacuated to relief camps in Goalpara and Sanskriti districts due to the floods. The local administration is conducting rescue and relief operations with the help of NDRF and SDRF.
