Horrific road accident on Lucknow-Agra expressway, 5 killed, 40 injured
A private double-decker Bihar to Delhi bus hit a car from behind parked on the Lucknow-Agra expressway. Both the bus and the car fell down the expressway.
Kannauj: A terrible road accident occurred on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Kannauj Sorich area of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning. Five people were killed and more than 40 others injured.
According to the police sources, the accident occurred around 5:00 AM Sunday when a private double-decker bus going from Bihar to Delhi hit a car coming from behind on the expressway. The collision was so severe that both the bus and the car fell off the expressway. In this accident, five people on board the bus were killed.
The sources said that the accident happened at gate number 148 of Lucknow-Agra Expressway. All the senior officers of the district rushed to the spot and all the injured were taken to the district hospital. Those who were seriously injured have been sent to the medical college. The death toll is expected to increase.
Sources say that the people living on the side of the expressway heard the noise in the morning. They rushed towards the expressway, where the bus and car had fallen into the ditch below the expressway. Locals started evacuating the people trapped inside the bus.
On getting the information, the police called the crane to straighten. The trapped people got rescued and taken to the hospital.
