New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a ‘mass movement’ to fight against the global pandemic Covid-19 in view of festivals, winter season and the state of the economy.

Mr. Modi today tweeted, “Come, let’s unite to fight Coronavirus! Always remember to wear a mask; keep your hands clean; follow social distancing. Maintain a distance of two yards while meeting with people.’ He wrote, ‘No leniency unless there is medicine.’

In another tweet, the Prime Minister wrote, “India’s COVID-19 fight is people driven and gets great strength from our COVID warriors. Our collective efforts have helped saved many lives. We have to continue the momentum and protect our citizens from the virus. #Unite2FightCorona.

Earlier, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said that the weapon of defence from Coronavirus is to wear masks, observe social distancing and wash hands repeatedly. Following this principle, a campaign will be launched to spread awareness about these measures in public places.
