Police abuse of Hathras victim’s family will not be tolerated: Rahul-Priyanka
A team of MPs and other senior leaders led by Mr. Gandhi will visit Hathras today and get detailed information about the attitude towards the victim.
New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and party’s General Secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have criticised the police’s behavior with the family of the rape victim girl of Hathras saying that they are being threatened and intimidated. They said this behaviour won’t be tolerated.
Mr. Gandhi said, ‘I do not accept the behaviour shown to this innocent girl and her family by the Uttar Pradesh government and its police. This is not acceptable to any Indian.’
Mrs. Vadra said, ‘Uttar Pradesh government is morally corrupt. The victim did not get treatment. No complaint was taken on time; the victim’s dead body was cremated forcibly; the family is in captivity and they are being pressurized. Now, they are being threatened that a narco test would be performed. This behavior is not acceptable to the country. Stop threatening the victim’s family.’
Meanwhile, the Congress in a statement issued here on Saturday said that a team of party MPs and other senior leaders under the leadership of Mr. Gandhi will go to Hathras today and get detailed information about the police behaviour with the victim’sfamily.
