Security forces claim to have recovered weapons in Kupwara
Security forces have claimed to have recovered weapons in Kupwara district of North Kashmir. The recovered weapons include 5 pistols, 10 magazines and 138 rounds.
Srinagar: Security forces have claimed to have recovered five pistols, 10 magazines and 138 rounds from a bag in the Titwal area of Kupwara border district of North Kashmir.
A police officer said that the Titwal police station received a report that a bag containing some suspicious material was lying in Gundi Short village.
He said that a team of joint police and army reached the spot soon after getting the information and started a search operation. The recipient said that weapons were recovered from a black bag during a search operation. The recovered weapons include five pistols, 10 magazines and 138 rounds.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by the army said that five pistols, 10 magazines and 138 rounds were recovered from a bag during an operation along the Line of Control in the Titwal area by security forces.
The statement further said that the army also foiled an attempt to smuggle arms into the Tangdar sector of North Kashmir on Monday.
