Stock market continues to rise, Sensex goes up at 550 points
The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened at 11,835.40 points with a strength of 96.55 points and gained 150 points to reach 11,890.30 points.
Mumbai: The domestic stock markets rose for the sixth consecutive day on Thursday, amid positive signals from foreign countries and the hope for the domestic economy.
The BSE Sensex opened up by 325.37 points at 40,204.32 points and rose by over 550 points to 40,439.03 before midday, with shares of IT and tech companies gaining momentum.
The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also opened at 11,835.40 points with a strength of 96.55 points and gained 150 points to reach 11,890.30 points.
There was less buying in medium and small companies. There was good buying in IT and tech companies. TCS shares rose five percent on the basis of good quarterly results. Infosys and HCL Technologies gained four and a half percent and Tech Mahindra gained four percent.
