Alwar: In the famous Thanagaji gangrape case in Alwar district of Rajasthan, the court today sentenced four convicts to life imprisonment and one convict to 5 years of jail.
The court of Special Judge of SC and ST Atrocities Prevention Brijesh Kumar pronounced this sentence to Indraj, Hansraj, Ashok and Chhotalal. Hansraj has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The four convicts have also been fined. Mukesh, another convict in the case, was sentenced to 5 years under the IT Act and fined Rs 50,000. The fines paid by the accused will be given to the accused.
Earlier, the court had today convicted these five accused. In this case, the accused were relieved from the caste-related charges. After completing the hearing in the case, the court had fixed the date for pronouncement of judgment on Tuesday. In addition to these five accused in this case, there is also a minor accused, whose trial is underway in the Juvenile Justice Board.
It is noteworthy that on 26 April 2019, a couple from Thanagaji were riding on a motorcycle. They were chased and stopped by the convicts.
