Thunderstorm in Bihar: lightning strikes kill 21 in various incidents
Patna: 21 people died in thunderstorms in Bihar on Thursday in Samastipur, Patna, East Champaran, Katihar and Shivhar. Six people died in Samastipur, five in Patna, four in East Champaran and three each in Katihar and Shivhar.
According to information received here from Samastipur, Deepak Kumar (12), Sonu Kumar (09) and Rudal Paswan (28) died due to a thunderstorm in Batha village of Rosda police station area of the district. At the same time, two-year-old Ankit Kumar died in the incident of thunderclap in Latbasepura village of Mussarighari station.
Similarly, Suresh Mahato (32) and farmer Ram Pratap Mahato (77) were also killed in Morsand village of Pusa police station area in Bhuidhara village of Mufassil police station area.
Five people died in three separate incidents of thunderclap in Dulhinbazar police station area of Patna. Jhunjhun Yadav (59) and Mukesh Yadav (29) died of thunderbolt in Sarkuna village. Similarly, Rani Devi (21) and Sulochana Devi (55) died due to lightning in GID village. At the same time, Neetu Kumari (15) also died due to thunderbolt in Sorampur village.
