Vande Bharat Mission: 150,000 returned home under this mission

New Delhi: More than 150,000 Indians have returned home under the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri took on the microblogging site Twitter and gave this information in a tweet.

Mr. Puri wrote, “More than 150K people have returned on VBM flights & 55K have flown out of India. With Phase-4 of the mission all set to soar, these numbers will increase significantly. More Indians will be able to return home.” He further said, “Today 4784 people returned to India from different countries.”

The mission was launched to bring the stranded Indians abroad due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Under this mission, Indian nationals are being brought on special flights with the help of Indian embassies abroad.

The fourth phase of Vande Bharat Mission is also to begin this week. Mr. Puri said that after the fourth phase, the number of Indians coming from abroad will increase rapidly.
