West Bengal BJP MLA Debendra Nath Ray found hanging
Raiganj: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Debendra Nath Ray was found dead on Monday (July 13, 2020) near his home at Hemtabad in Uttar Dinajpur district of North Bengal area. The deadbody of BJP MLA was found hanging on the noose. Family members of the MLA and other people alleged to have been murdered.
The BJP has expressed strong resentment over the death of the MLA. BJP leader Rahul Sinha demanded a CBI inquiry in the murder of BJP MLA Debendra Nath of Hemtabad. The Trinamool Congress is behind this murder and has made it like a suicide. I request the Chief Minister of West Bengal to order a CBI inquiry to know the truth behind the murder.
The official twitter handle of the West Bengal BJP twitted and alleged the hanging is a murder.
Body of Shri Debendra Nath Ray, BJP MLA from Hemtabad, a reserved seat, in Uttar Dinajpur, was found hanging like this in Bindal, near his village home. People are of the clear opinion that he was first killed & then hung.
His crime? He joined the BJP in 2019.

National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party Mr. JP Nadda also took on Twitter and said, “The suspected heinous killing of Debendra Nath Ray, BJP MLA from Hemtabad in West Bengal, is extremely shocking and deplorable. This speaks of the Gunda Raj & failure of law and order in the Mamta govt. People will not forgive such a govt in the future. We strongly condemn this.”

The family alleged that he had been murdered. They explain that the body of the MLA was found hanging in a trap in the balcony of a shop near his house in Hemtabad. Police have started an investigation into the case. However, no one has been arrested yet. Ray won the Bengal assembly election from Hemtabad on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) ticket in 2016. But later he joined the BJP.
