Workers death: 7 workers killed in bus-truck collision
70 Odisha workers were going to Surat for Gujarat by bus for employment. Around 3.30 am, the bus collided with a high-speed truck coming from the opposite direction at Mandir Hasaud on the National Highway.
Raipur: At least seven labourers were killed and several others injured in a bus-truck collision at Mandir Hasaud near Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, on Saturday morning.
According to police sources, 70 Odisha workers were on way to Surat (Gujarat) by bus for employment. At around 3.30 AM, the bus collided with a high-speed truck coming from the opposite direction near Chheri Kheri at Mandir Hasaud on the National Highway. The collision was so severe that seven workers lost their lives on the spot.
Many labourers were injured in the accident. Police rushed to the spot and admitted all the injured to the Medical College Hospital Raipur.
The truck driver escaped from the spot after the accident. The police are searching for him. The police have registered a case and are conducting necessary investigations.
