Madrid: The Spanish government may soon come with good news for foreign tourists to pack their bags to Spain. The Spanish government has indicated it will soon reopen the country for foreign tourists after easing the lockdowns in the capital, Madrid, and Barcelona.
According to Deutsche Welle (DW) report, Spani’s Minister of Tourism H.E. María Reyes Maroto Illera said on Monday that the government could allow foreign tourists to travel to Spain and book holidays in the country from July because the mandatory 14-day quarantine will be removed by then. The statement also had an impact on the stock market and Melia Hotel recorded a 14% increase in initial business.
Spain is one of the top countries infected with the coronavirus- COVID-19. So far, 235,772 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed positive in the country and about 28,700 deaths have been reported.
