Coronavirus spreads fast in Bihar, Govt. is busy in election campaign: Congress
Despite the rapid spread of Coronavirus infection in Bihar, the war against Coronavirus appears to have weakened somewhat as NDA allies are busy preparing for Assembly elections to be held this year.
Patna: Bihar Congress on Tuesday alleged the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies in the state are playing with people’s lives. Congress says that despite the growing impact of the Coronavirus epidemic the state government is busy spending all its efforts to get this year’s assembly elections to be conducted on time.
Lal Kumar, a member of the All India Congress Committee and former state president of the Youth Congress, said here that despite the rapid spread of coronavirus epidemic in the state, the government is not preparing for elections as carefully as it should have been. The war against Coronavirus appears to be weakening, with NDA allies busy preparing for the assembly elections to be held this year.
He said that the tally of covid cases in the state also shows that the number of infections has increased significantly in the present days. This is a matter of grave concern. Similarly, the Containment Zone has quadrupled during last month.
Mr. Kumar said that in the interest of the people, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should give up his stubbornness to hold assembly elections within the stipulated time and focus on the health sector. The first responsibility of the government is to protect the lives and property of the people.
He has urged all the parties to rise above their sentiments and come together with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to expedite the COVID-19 tests and make good arrangements for the affected people.
