Leading a procession in support of the Agriculture Act in Bankura, Saumitra Khan said that atrocities were taking place in West Bengal. President’s rule will be imposed in December.
He said that the Trinamool Congress is killing the rights of the people at the panchayat level, the situation in Jangl Mahal is bad but the people of Jangle Mahal now feel that they have been betrayed.
He expressed concern that the way Kishenji was killed in Jangl Mahal, there is a possibility that Chhatra Dhar Mahato may be killed. He has also demanded the arrest of Chhatra Dhar Mahato in the Ganeshwari case.
In response to a question, he welcomed the High Court’s decision to ban the entry of common devotees to Durga shrines, saying that everyone should arrange worship in their respective neighborhoods. He said, ‘it was the right decision in the situation of Covid pandemic.’
The Trinamool Congress has reacted strongly to the BJP MP’s statement. Party’s Bankura district president and Minister Shyamal Santra said that the BJP MPs would be held responsible if there is any unrest due to their inflammatory remarks in Jangl Mahal.
He said that the people of West Bengal are with Mamata Banerjee. He also claimed that the people of Jangal Mahal would throw him away.
