Trains to run on battery, engine successfully tested

New Delhi: Taking another step towards clean fuel, Indian Railways has successfully tested battery powered rail engines. This engine has been manufactured in Jabalpur division and said to be named ‘Nodot’. It works in double mode.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal gave a video tweet informing about the successful trial of ‘Nodot’. He says that the battery-powered loco symbolizes a bright future, which will be a major step in saving foreign exchange from diesel and protecting the environment.”
