Mumbai: The 13th edition of the IPL will begin on 19 September in Abu Dhabi with a bang The first match will take place between defending champions Mumbai Indians and runners-up Chennai Super Kings. The IPL is going to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September to 10 November. The Indian Premier League (IPL) is being conducted in the UAE due to the global epidemic.
The governing council of the IPL announced the event on Sunday. Only 13 days left for the tournament to begin. The first match will be played between the two finalists of the previous edition – Mumbai and Chennai. Four times award winner Rohit Sharma is leading Mumbai team. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is leading the Chennai team, which has won the title three times.
The tournament matches will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. These are the three cities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where matches are taking place. The play-off match schedule for the tournament will be released later.
After the tournament starts on 19 September, the second match of the tournament will be played on 20 September between Delhi Capital and Kings XI Punjab in Dubai. The team Sunrisers Hyderabad will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 21 September in Dubai.
The fourth match of the tournament will be played on 22 September in Sharjah where Rajasthan Royals will play with Dhoni from Chennai. This will be Chennai’s second match in the tournament. Two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Mumbai on 23 September in Abu Dhabi.
Two matches will be played twice a day in the IPL. The first match will start at 3:30 PM (Indian time) and the second match will start at 7:30 PM. 24 matches are scheduled to be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi and 12 matches will be played in Sharjah.
