8 new cases of Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, 17,677 under surveillance
Srinagar: The government said on Thursday that 8 new cases of Novel Coronavirus have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir. Among them, 5 belong to Jammu and 3 belong to Kashmir. Thus, the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 70.
The government has issued in a daily media bulletin report that out of 70 positive cases of Novel Coronavirus, 65 are active cases, three patients have been recovered and two have died. Of the positive cases, 53 are from Kashmir and 17 belong from Jammu. The bulletin further states that the first case of COVID-19 in Kashmir was completely recovered and it was discharged from the hospital.
So far, 17,677 people with travel history or who have been exposed to suspected cases have been kept under surveillance. Of these, 10,694 have been kept in-home quarantine, including government quarantine centres. In addition, 622 people have been kept in quarantine hospitals. 65 have been kept in the hospital while 4109 have been kept under house surveillance. Similarly, according to the bulletin, 2187 people have completed a 28-day monitoring period.
