Boat capsized in Nigerian city of Benue, 14 people of local church killed
23 people drowned halfway in a boat on their way to Markardi from Benue. The passengers have been identified as members of the local church.
Lagos: 14 people drowned after a boat capsized in the Nigerian city of Benue. On Tuesday, police spokesperson Kaastri Aneen gave this information. The police spokesman said that the accident occurred on Sunday and so far only two people have been rescued while the remaining people are being traced.
He said the boat, which was carrying 23 people, sank halfway on its way from Benue to Makadi. The passengers have been identified as members of the local church.
Significantly, two days before the incident, a boat sank in Lagos, killing seven people. 14 people were rescued safely in the incident.
