Lebanon blast case: 16 arrested, including Beirut port director
Doha: A total of 16 people, including the port director Hassan Koraytem, have been arrested in the case of the port explosion of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
According to the LBC Radio Broadcasting, 16 people have been arrested in this case. Koraytem has said that he was informed of the huge amount of gunpowder at the port. But he was unaware of the size of risk.
149 people were killed and more than 5,000 injured in the horrific bomb blast on Tuesday evening at the port of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut. Lebanese officials said the explosion at the port was caused by 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, which was unsafely kept in the port warehouse.
