Need to appoint more and more US citizens in UN to counter China
The task force has recommended that Congress should appoint the Trump administration as a special envoy for the integrity of the United Nations.
Washington: To counter China’s influence in the United Nations, the US government and Congress (parliament) must work to obtain a more important position in this ‘world organization’ and fund it.
These things have been said by the China Task Force of the US Parliament. In its report on Wednesday, the task force said, ‘Congress (parliament) and the administration must work to provide space to the system of the United States and to American citizens.’
The administration should ensure that the position of the American workforce is primary and coordinated, while Congress should ensure that there is appropriate funding for this effort.
The task force recommends that Congress should appoint the Trump administration as a special envoy for the integrity of the United Nations.
It is noteworthy that the Trump administration created the post of Special Envoy in 2019 to evaluate and counter the ‘harmful’ effects in the United Nations.
