Two-week emergency declared after more than 100 killed in Lebanon blast
Beirut: A two-week emergency has been declared in the country in the wake of the horrific explosion in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. The explosion killed more than 100 people and injured about 4,000 people.
President Michel Aoun announced the two-day emergency today. Prime Minister Hasan Diab on Wednesday called for ‘Day of Mourning’.
Two massive explosions rocked the whole world in a series of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in a hangar at the port of Beirut on Tuesday evening. The cause of the explosion is not yet known.
